Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson, Chris Attoh & More: Single & Married Movie Premiere Photos

Yvonne Nelson on the Red Carpet (Single & Married Premiere, Accra)

Single & Married from the stables of Media GH and produced by actress Yvonne Nelson was premiered to film fanatics and other Nollywood and Gollywood stars. This is actually Yvonne Nelson’s first production after many years in acting.

The storyline of Single & Married delves into happenings in marriage with a greater focus on how most men eternally crave to love and to be love.

The movie tells the suspense-filled story of Jay, played by 2011 Pan African Best Actor, Chris Attoh, a top league real estate contractor; Kim (Yvonne Nelson), ex-model and a contemporary housewife; Raymond (Kweku Elliot), an accomplished sculptor; Paula (Nadia Buari), a stuck-up lawyer; Ranesh (Kofi Adjorlolo), a 69-year-old multimillionaire and Vida (Tana Adelana), a woman just in it for the money.

The lives of these six characters are inter-woven in a comic but thrilling plot of love, lust and lies. The very essence of their personalities is tested and at the end of it all, marriage becomes just a game everyone plays.

Single & Married also stars Eddie Watson, Anita Erskine, Efya and Tiffany. It was directed by Pascal Amanfo with Anita Erskine playing the role of narrator of the story.

Yvonne Nelson is known to be a great actress in Ghana. I’m sure her fans will agree with me but the question I have is why this particular story line? Is this message coming from the horse’s mouth? Perhaps religious leaders find it difficult to address these issues. Enough of these questions, let’s take a look at few comments from viewers after watching the trailer on YouTube.

  • i hate the way ghananian movie are encorperating too much sex in their movies nowadays just so they can be like americans. its seriously disgusting”
  • “Marriage is between one man and woman”
  • “The trailer is too long. It also seems they are using profanity for the sake of using profanity. Mainstream Ghanaian actors need to learn subtlety in acting.”
  • “Fully for great work of art.. but the over-bearing sexual overtones in almost every scene, still immature and not inviting.Even when watching an R rated chinese or european produced (from experience, pls no offense intended) movies, the sexual scenes can be captured within some scenes..PERIOD. Lets learn from award winning producers, directors and while staying true to been African, unfold the beauties, display the splendour, connect to the now, pull from history and produce some JAZZED up work”
